Welcome back to The High Low!
We’re changing things up this week. Instead of our usual, separate High Spotlight and Low Spotlight, we’re doing just one High-Low Spotlight. Same goes for the Links — it’s all in one list this week. Sometimes it can be hard to distinguish between the two and we decided to test out what it’d look like to merge them all together.
What do you think? Do you prefer the other format? Let us know!

The ANTM Traumatic Photo Shoot Meme
@coach_monique best photo of the week with a side of trauma #antm #blizzard #tyrabanks #nyc
The ANTM documentary series dropped on Netflix last week and it has been on my mind ever since. In just three episodes, I was sucked right back into Tyra Banks’ smizing clutches. It’s a reality show I was a regular viewer of back in the day, and it’s no surprise that it has not aged well. We all know the contestants had to do some pretty wild stuff and Tyra could be overly theatrical or downright unhinged, but there were some reveals in the docuseries that I definitely did not see coming. (The whole Shandi situation was foul!! #JusticeforShandi)
There was also another moment in the doc that spotlighted Cycle 8’s Dionne Walters’ re-traumatizing experience. In the show, she had explained how her mother was shot and paralyzed. Despite producers knowing her personal story, she was tasked with participating in a controversial photo shoot in which she’d be the fatal victim of gun violence. This whole scenario is horrendous, but now Gen Z is using humor on social media to highlight the show’s traumatic absurdity.
These traumatic photo shoot memes follow the basic structure of taking an emotionally distressing memory and forcing the model to recreate it through an outlandish photo shoot.
@jenianwobu Had to jump on this trend 🤣🤣 #antm #tyra
@heyblakerackley “I really loved this one it was electric” #ANTM #americasnexttopmodel #tyrabanks #netflix
And with the recent blizzard in NYC, many of these East Coast youths have incorporated their snowy surroundings.
@princeizzy___ And I’m gonna get best photo 😅🥶 #antm #topmodel #trend #nyc #snowstorm

🐒 Like the rest of the world, we’re obsessed with Punch the baby monkey in Japan. His story of being abandoned by his mother, clinging to an orangutan plushie from IKEA, and being bullied by other monkeys has tugged at our heartstrings. But, we’re so happy to see this sweet little furball finally being accepted and even embraced by his fellow apes. One of the zoo’s latest reports even says he’s playing with other baby monkeys and that “he continues to do well!”
🤬 The BAFTAs aired this past weekend and though the televised ceremony was meant to celebrate film, there was one truly uncomfortable moment that everyone has been talking about: when John Davidson (an activist with Tourette syndrome) had an involuntary tic in which he shouted the N-word as Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo stepped onstage to present an award. He has since released a statement saying he’s “deeply mortified” if anyone thought it was intentional.
📺 The Simpsons broadcast its 800th episode and the opening couch gag addressed the show’s updated intro (which was introduced in 2009), where Homer actually gets hit by Marge’s car. To be completely honest, it’s been a minute since we’ve watched The Simpsons, but this couch gag is the kind of comedy we love from the show.
🪑 South Korean artist Jinil Park has been turning scribbled sketches into real furniture that look exactly as they do in her sketchbooks. She’s been at it for over a decade! This Drawing Series line of home decor is quirky and cool at the same time. It’s almost like stepping into an a-ha music video.
🖼️ There’s a Claude Monet LEGO set coming out on March 4 that is truly a work of art. Replicating Monet’s Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies, originally painted in 1899, this set lets amateur LEGO builders create their own Impressionist masterpiece, brick by brick. Of course a set this refined will cost you quite a bit of… Monet. $249.99 to be exact.
👨🎤 David Bowie is getting his own immersive experience. This exhibit, titled David Bowie: You’re Not Alone, is set to open in London at Lightroom on April 22. “The show combines rare performance footage, photography, drawings, lyrics, personal notes, and sketches to craft the most vivid, detailed, and immersive visual exploration yet of Bowie’s worlds.”
🏆 The 2026 Winter Olympics have concluded, so here are some interesting facts and badass moments from the Games:
This was the U.S.’s best-ever performance in Winter Olympics history. The country came in solo second place in both total medals (33) and gold medals (12), just behind Norway.
For the third Winter Olympics in a row (and the six Olympics in a row, counting Summer Olympics), the U.S. women won more medals than the men. This time around, they won 67% of gold medals and 61% of all medals.
Eileen Gu, a Chinese-American freestyle skier for Team China, proved she’s not only an Olympic champion, but also the best at fielding ridiculous questions. Oh, and she’s also a genius.
American figure skater Alysa Liu didn’t care about medals and just wanted to have fun. Her Donna Summer routine was definitely fun, and it just so happened to win her gold, too. And her celebration at the podium was so sweet.
